DGA provides interesting and informative programs on topics of genealogy and local history throughout the year. Programs are open to DGA members and the general public.

Meetings are held monthly on the fourth Monday, with the exception of July and December, unless the fourth Monday is a holiday. Then the meeting is held on the third Monday.

All programs are at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center unless otherwise advertised.


Winneshiek County Public Records for births, deaths, marriages, naturalization, probates, early land records; Federal Census, 1850-1940, Iowa State Census, 1852-1925; Decorah Republican, Decorah Journal, Decorah Public Opinion, Ossian Bee, and Calmar Courier newspapers on microfilm, collections of high school and college yearbooks, county histories, family histories, township histories, genealogy periodicals, newsletters, a vast collection of Norwegian genealogy resources, and much more.
